BAH! i feel so blue...Packing is never fun and I have 4 days to pack all my things. Moving date is FRIDAY!!!! ACK!

Do you know how many times I've moved in my life? hmm...let me see....

the "how many times gee has moved" calculation:

korea (kindergarten)
 --> scotland 2yrs ONCE
 --> england 1 yr TWICE
--> korea 0.5 yr THRICE
--> pakistan 7.5 yrs
(within a year I would move
4 times from boarding school
to parents house so that's
7.5 x 4= 30!!!) THIRTY THREE TIMES!

--> canada
(lived here 8yrs and
already lived in 5 places!
and now i'm moving again!) THIRTY NINTH TIME!!!!!!

ok so i was never good at math and my formula is....well...it's NOT a formula! but the point is that I've packed and unpacked more than I would've liked. I'm tired of packing! :(
Packing means I do not have easy access to my things which is always annoying, it's like my life is on hold. So! I just wanted to dedicate this post to VENT about having to move so much! I'm thankful for the experiences that i've had from traveling and living in so many different countries but i'd like to stay in one place for more than a couple years, please?

I got my ticket today!
LOL! notice the very thick red book with the "2004" written on it? That's the 2004 edition, volume 1, of the Canadian Construction...mm....like a resource book for architects. what I use to prop up my monitor because it's too low.

I'm pretty frazzled at the moment because I stayed up last night going through my photos from the Impromptu Shoot yesterday and also because work has just been SOOOOO busy! A coworker of mine just had a baby so he's gonna be gone for a week. It's a small office so that means more work and more responsibilities on my very delicate shoulders.

Anyways, I'm excited about going to IDS 08 this coming friday! But it's not all play...I actually have things to look for this time. But still, I'm going with my friends so it'll be fun.

I just came back from an impromptu photoshoot with claudia hung, Dave and Chan-ra. We all met at Dundas Square to shoot 2 smokin hot models :P

The weather was great in the beginning but got cold and dark faster than I thought it would. It was great to see how these shoots go. The models were very easy to work with and had great chemistry. ;p All in all i had a great time. Just BEING there was an experience.

some things i learned:
- When i was shooting the couple walking towards me I had a hard to focusing on them and adjusting the frame the way I wanted because I always set the point of focus to the center of the frame. There are 2 solutions. Either adjust the point of focus manually to the left or right or just leave the point of focus as it is (center focus) and crop it afterwards on my laptop. Cropping it later may be better because I'll have more options in the end.
- I need a faster zoom lens :P the debate goes on...sigma or canon...sigma or canon....
- Taking good pictures takes practice. The more I shoot the better I'll get. It's about intuition...knowing where to stand, knowing which angles work.

photos to follow soon!

Saturday mornings spent at my dining table, a bagel in my left hand, watching Youtube with coffee brewing in the back is my idea of a perfect morning...

Here are a couple links to some videos I've been watching...

Music videos are a great way to be inspired...camera angles etc..

I can't believe I only just recently heard the name Raymond Moriyama. He's an architect born in Vancouver with a Japanese heritage. I love the simple elegance of his designs. My boss showed me a recent interior project because he uses wood slots which I've used for my church project. It's the University of Toronto Multi Faith Centre.

I <3 Wood!
I also like the contrast that wood + concrete gives.
Hard vs. Soft
Cold vs. Warm

The washroom is finished with grey mosaic tiles and gypsum board painted simple white. The back lit gypsum board is so beautiful and gives such a soft quality to the space. Such a simple thing that makes the biggest difference. Notice the wood in the picture? I love it!

The white marble looking thing is Onyx!
SOOOO BEAUTIFUL! (must've cost a fortune)

So...i updated my mac and restarted my imac at work. GARH! it's screwed up!....i get the apple and the windmill thingy then the screen turns blue and that's it!!!!! STUPID UPDATE! i'm so mad cause I have work to do and now i've spent so many hours trying to figure out whats wrong and eventually backing up all my files (which means loosing all my music compilations cause there's no time to back up EVERYTHING). Boss is pissed cause his employee is unable to work...the associate is pissed cause he has to help me. But it's not my fault! It's that 180MB updates problem!

Three things that have brough a smile to my face today:

1. The beautiful snow
2. I go to the starbucks at yonge and finch every morning to get my dose of caffeine. Because I go everyday I've befriended a couple of them. Michael (my starbucks man) has promised me a free coffee the next time I come in...ON ONE CONDITION!...that i actually come in early and not late for work.
3. Extreme fitness has FINALLY responded to my constant complaints and is allowing me to break my contract. phew! I hope they keep their word when i go in today.

ok so this was a while ago....1.5 weeks ago. I went to the Raptors game because my wonderful friend Jimmie was singing the Canadian and American anthem. SO PROUD! It was a surreal experience to be there with friends. I had an AWESOME time. Also after the game we got to meet Yi Jianlian who plays for the Milwaukee Bucks and then we got to meet Jamario of Toronto Raptors!!! a.k.a. "MOONSHINE". I was getting very angry though because i didn't take my camera...garh!...so...that's why I have no photos to show you :(
