I'm going to Korea tomorrow!!!! I'm super excited which makes me even more angry that I have to go into work tomorrow as i'm leaving at night. Also, I know that my excitement is going to make the day go even longer.

I've had an awesome past week and so much as happened. I feel so behind in my blogging that it's preventing me from posting.

some random thoughts and things i did over the weekend:
- Went to Henrys to buy a camera bag, got a sweet bag that's super comfortable and it has both the elements that I liked in the Lowepro Flipside and Fastpack. While i was there i tried out a couple lenses... next purchase will be 24-70mm f/2.8 L
- Chopin's Etudes are crazy: I finally moved my piano up to my new apartment and i've been practicing because i'm SO rusty...i didn't realize his etudes were that fast until i downloaded a bunch of the songs. ke ke ke. Learning Etude No.3
- Today I woke up at 5:20am and went running. I've been quite the active gal this past week.
- only 17 days left until I'm off for Korea!
- My cousins baked cookies on sunday morning...yum! I should bake.
- The purpose of my blog keeps changing. (lol)

Behind my apartment is a large park but i like calling it my backyard.
It's beautiful and quiet. Not that many people know about it. I can't begin to express the joy of discovering this new land. When i'm there it feels like i'm on holiday....i go walking around and 1.5hrs goes by but it feels like only 15mins has gone by to me. It's exactly what i need to destress from the days work sitting in front of the computer all day. I go there with my cousins and they have a blast...filming documentaries with their digital camera...it's really quite cute.
Going into my backyard I've realized how much I miss nature. Being in the city for so long and being a full-time worker really turns you into a zombie sometimes. My love of nature was really instilled in me through my dad who LOVES bird watching, taking ridiculous amounts of photos of trees and landscapes (all film...it used to drive my mum insane) and CAMPING! oh i miss camping! If i had a car I would go all the time.
That said, I'm looking forward to see how my backyard will look when it grows its leaves.
Here are some pictures I took on one of our journeys...

"what a waste of time"
that was my first thought on listening to my voicemail at work this morning. I sent in electrical drawings last week and FINALLY a week later I get a message from the person (who i have yet to speak in person because she never picks up when i call) saying that i was supposed send 7 copies not 4 of the electrical drawings and they had to be in a 24"x36" paper format not Tabloid. So you know what i did? i cut and paste the drawings i had on to a 24"x36" sheet of paper and sent it for print. What a waste of time!!!!!! The stupid thing is they gave me guidelines on how to submit the required drawings BUT there were 2 different guidelines for the same purpose. How retarded and confusing is that? One guideline states that i need to submit 4 copies and the other says 7 copies.
on a side note:
what BEAUTIFUL weather!
this means that I have to start running because I've been using the excuse that I'm not working out due to the bad cold dreary weather. Now I have to put my money where my mouth is and go run!
...I thought i would share my current "run baby run" playlist

It's hard not to hit a wall every time I think of an idea. Why does everything cost so much money? Usually if something looks awesome 99.99% of the time it means $$$
The restaurant I'm designing right now is a challenge because it's my first time designing a restaurant. I have a little more experience under my belt now but it's still very different from residential design.
I have a better feel for what I want to do now and they are goooood ideas. Hopefully it'll play out just as well as I'm envisioning. Choosing a good contractor and craftsmen are just as important because they're the ones that bring to life the designers vision :P
All in all i'm very excited.
can you guess what type of restaurant I'm designing?
