I can't believe I only just recently heard the name Raymond Moriyama. He's an architect born in Vancouver with a Japanese heritage. I love the simple elegance of his designs. My boss showed me a recent interior project because he uses wood slots which I've used for my church project. It's the University of Toronto Multi Faith Centre.
I <3 Wood!
I also like the contrast that wood + concrete gives.
Hard vs. Soft
Cold vs. Warm
The washroom is finished with grey mosaic tiles and gypsum board painted simple white. The back lit gypsum board is so beautiful and gives such a soft quality to the space. Such a simple thing that makes the biggest difference. Notice the wood in the picture? I love it!
The white marble looking thing is Onyx!
SOOOO BEAUTIFUL! (must've cost a fortune)

wow - that's just stunning, and i totally agree with you on the wood w/ concreate or anything hard.
LOVE IT! and the onyx ... i once saw a fireplace mantel from floor to ceiling done up in an onyx tile like such ... just breathtaking!
That's crazy!
Wilson likes making concrete counter tops! He made one for his washroom downstairs...a small one just to test it out.
He says he's going to make a counter top for our new house... ack!
i love concrete!
hey....so..once he's had more practice can he do mine?...How did he learn to do that? it must've been messy lol!
Yah he can practice on yours before doing our counter! haha
Wilson bought a book and did a lot of research. He's into woodworking which actually helped because he was able to make the mold out of wood. He ordered some diamond-grade "sand" paper haha to polish the counter. It's pretty cool.
